People in the Know(de)
Associate Principal Scientist L’Oreal
Today, we introduce you to Theresa at L’Oreal!
1. What’s your story (how did you get into personal care, what do you love about your job)?
I entered the industry through happenstance. At the time I was looking for jobs, I wanted to apply my graduate research in 3D bio-printing in a fast-paced research setting. On a whim, I applied for a position at L’Oreal, and the rest is history. Today, I am in a position to make the connection between new technologies and cosmetics research applications
2. What industry pain points would you like to see addressed by new technology?
The impact of cosmetics research often gets overlooked by cosmetics marketing. However, with the ability to share information on social media, I hope to see more #researchlife tags and science-based demos highlighted as part of product launches.
3. Do you anticipate using any new technologies over the next 12 months? What are they?
Sometimes, I travel internationally as part of my work. Unfortunately, I’m not a linguist, so I need a little help with the local language. I recently discovered Google’s image-to-text translation app, and I have a feeling that this technology will help me survive!
4. The floor is yours, what do you want people to know about you?
Before every research presentation, I like to take a selfie picture with the crowd.
