U.S. Homeland Security Says Chemical Industry is Part of Essential Critical Infrastructure

It’s not surprising that chemical companies are deemed an essential part of the critical infrastructure. They provide companies that produce everything from medical supplies and test kits to potential antidotes and cures to address the COVID-19 virus with the raw materials and chemistry expertise they need to develop and manufacture their products.

Department of Homeland Security: Chemical Industry Deemed Essential Critical Infrastructure.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has identified the U.S. chemical industry and its workers as Essential Critical Infrastructure.  DHS called the industry “a sector critical to public health and safety, economic and national security,” and stated that it expects the industry to continue normal operations, while following CDC workforce and customer protection guidance.
